Iran, Qatar Ties to Boost: Rouhani

TEHRAN ( Iran News ) – Iran President, Hassan Rouhani reiterated his administration’s resolve to deepen the country’s relations with Qatar and said major decisions were taken during his Sunday meeting with the Arab country’s visiting emir to boost the ties. Speaking at a joint press conference with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Tehran on Sunday, Iran President pointed to the sanctions imposed by some regional Arab states against Doha and said, “We have sided with Qatar and will do so in the future by boosting mutual ties.” “In today’s negotiations, we made important decisions to develop the two countries’ relations,” he said, adding, “Our political relations are very good, and we have great capacities in economic, cultural and business relations.” “In the next few months, a joint (economic) commission will be formed, and in addition to the commission, we hope to reach good agreements on trade and technology cooperation between the two countries,” the Iranian president went on to say
