Health Ministry: COVID-19 Death Toll Hits 23,000

TEHRAN ( Iran News ) – While the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran surpassed 23,000 on Saturday, the Health Ministry said more than 330,000 positive cases have recovered from the disease. Speaking at a daily press conference on Saturday, Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said the coronavirus has taken the lives of 116 patients during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 23,029. The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in Iran has risen to 399,940 after the detection of 2,139 new cases since yesterday, she added.
